The Friends of West Rise recently organised a sponsored Colour Run for the children and staff to raise funds for the school. A lot of hard work went into organising and running the event but it was well worth it, it was an amazing event! Every year group took part including the children from the nursery, it was lovely to see the Year 6 children helping and cheering on the younger children.

Teachers ran with the classes and several staff threw the powder and squirted water guns!

The children were all so enthusiastic and ran twice round the course, they all showed West Rise perseverance on a very hot day and lots of wonderful school spirit as they worked as a team and tackled the obstacles.

So many parents came along to watch their children run and have so much fun getting covered in lots of different colour powder. All the children said how much they enjoyed it and I think you can see from the smiley faces in the photographs how much fun was had by all!

The event has raised at least £6,000 so far which is a fantastic amount! This money will enable the Friends of West Rise to fund a variety of activities throughout the year as well as new Hi-Vis vests for the whole school for school trips, plus investment in equipment for the children to use in the outdoor spaces.
