I am the Chair of Governors at West Rise Primary School. I have been a governor and clerk in various schools in East Sussex and Brightonand Hove since 2010. I have worked as a youth worker, in school data, and nowwork in Information Technology as a Solutions Architect.

I am a co-opted governor at West RisePrimary School As Safeguarding Practice Manager for alarge regional youth charity, I lead on strategy and development forsafeguarding children and adults. I have experience in child protection,regulatory compliance, and serious incident response, and I'm deeply committedto ensuring the safety and wellbeing of young people.
I hold an MSc in Health Promotion, My studies focused on the social,psychological and structural factors that influence health and behaviour,enriching the way I approach safeguarding and continuous service improvement. I bring the same care, curiosity andattentiveness to my role as a school governor, providing oversight andaccountability as this wonderful school creates safe, inclusive learning spaceswhere children can thrive.

Aoife Tobin

I am a parent governor atWest Rise Primary School. I have been a governor here for around 2 years, Icurrently work as a Finance Operations Manager and have extensive managementand leadership experience. Both of my children have attended West Rise and bothlove the school, I feel that this is my way of giving something back to theschool and community.

My name is Emily Ellis, I live inHastings with my husband and 3 children. Our eldest is non verbal and goes tospecial school in Bexhill our 2 other children are both at mainstream primaryschool in Hastings. I have taught at West Rise for nearly 20 yearsand I have been a governor for 10 years. I am currently working acrossyear 1 and 2 providing our growth model outdoor curriculum.

I am a dedicated and experiencededucational professional with 15 years of service in secondary education,starting my career as a teaching assistant.
Currently, as a Special EducationalNeeds and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCO), I am committed to championinginclusive practice and ensuring that every student has access to the supportrequired to thrive academically and personally.
Complementing this expertise, I bringsignificant experience as a former Safeguarding Lead, demonstrating anunwavering commitment to student welfare and the maintenance of a safe,supportive school environment.

I have been the Staff Governor at West Rise Junior School and now at the Primary School for the past four years. Alongside this role, I ama Year 6 teacher and the school’s Maths Lead, with a passion for helping pupilsdevelop confidence and enjoyment in mathematics.
