Year 3 Summer Term 2 Newsletter 2026
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we approach the final term of Year 3, we would like to take a moment to reflect on the achievements our children have made and the exciting opportunities that lie ahead as they transition into Year 4.
This term, we will embark on an adventure to Hever Castle. The visit will include an outdoor tour looking at their vast collection of ancient statues in the Italian Gardens, and a hands-on workshop, where paper mosaics and working aqueducts can be constructed to show how skilled and clever the ancient Romans were. This trip promises to be both educational and fun, and we encourage you to discuss the exciting discoveries they will make.
In Mathematics, we will continue to develop our skills in shape, money and time. Ensuring that your child practises these skills at home can greatly enhance their confidence, so any activities related to these topics, such as counting money or telling the time, would be incredibly beneficial.
Our English lessons will focus on crafting a short story about a bubble adventure, using all the skills that the children have been taught this year. We will also continue with our class reader, The Wild Robot, which they are thoroughly enjoying.
In Science, we will delve deeper into the fascinating world of plants and their importance to our ecosystem. We will also be covering an important topic in PSHE, discussing drugs (medicines) and the responsible use of drugs. In P.E., we will be playing rounders, which will help to develop teamwork and physical skills.
As we embark on this final term, let’s work together to ensure our children feel excited and prepared for Year 4. Thank you for your continued support and for being such an essential part of our school community. Together, let’s make this last term memorable and enriching for all the children as they prepare for the exciting journey ahead in Year 4.
Thank you for your continued support in your child’s education.
Year 3 Team
