These topics are not only essential forbuilding a strong foundation in mathematical understanding, but they also provide practical skills that yourchildren can use in everyday life. We encourage you to discuss measurements and weights at home, perhaps when cooking or shopping, to reinforce their learning.
In English, we will be consolidating our previous learning on varying sentence structure, a rangeof sentences, paragraphs and using good descriptive vocabulary.
For Reading, we will be starting a new book called The Wild Robot. The book is about a service robot who isshipwrecked on a remote, wild island. Roz adapts to the wilderness, befriending animals and adopting anorphaned gosling named Brightbill. The heartwarming, action-packed story focuses on survival, empathy, and the bond between technology and nature. We will continue to focus on improving their retrieval, inference and word choice skills. Reading at home remains a vital part of their reading journey so pleasekeep up the wonderful reading at home.
Within Science, our focus will be on plants. The children will learn about different types of plants, their lifecycles, and the environments they thrive in. A visit to a local park or garden with your child could providea perfect opportunity for discussions about various plants and their features!
