Nursery - Summer Term 1

Welcome to Summer Term One and hopefully some sunshine!  We hope you had a lovely Easter break, although that seems such a long time ago now, and we welcome you and your children back to Nursery.

This term we continue to follow the children’s interests and offer them a mix of inviting activities to provoke their curiosity and develop their learning through their investigations and play.

The children have fully embraced our learning about ‘Growing and Change’, this includes finding out about life-cycles. Last week saw the arrival of some duck eggs so we will be looking after these very carefully and watching them closely over the coming weeks for signs of hatching into ducklings…how exciting!  We will also be watching our caterpillars closely and waiting for them to turn into butterflies, plus we will hopefully have some tadpoles coming soon so the children can watch them turn into frogs.

The nurture and toddler group children have also been enjoying sharing the story of ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ and have been spending some time in the pre-school room and garden as part of their transition into pre-school.

Alongside all our learning we continue with our complete immersion in a Mindful approach to nursery life.  The children continue to use all their senses and deep breathing to harness the full potential of a calm and focused brain.  Look out for the Wellbeing bag that the children are taking in turns to take home.

We look forward to a fun-filled term and continue to enjoy working in partnership with you if you wish to discuss any of the above please speak to Caroline.

Thank you once again for all your continued support.
