What we are learning in Nursery – Spring Term Two 2025
A warm welcome back after our February half term.
This term we continue to follow your children’s interests and plan activities around these. Many of the children enjoy talking about their family – who lives at home with them. It would be wonderful if you could either bring in a family photo or email Caroline if you do not have a printer. We would love to put these up in nursery.
We are also basing some of our activities around the ‘Traditional Tales’. The rich language in these stories makes them a wonderful early reading tool as well as teaching children about how language works and developing memory too. We are currently sharing the story ‘The Three Little Pigs’ and learning the ‘3 Little Pig Rap’. We are also learning to recite lots of poems as part of the ‘Poetry Basket Project’. Perhaps ask your children to share some of these with you. Please let me know if you would like a copy of any of the words for these.
We are continuing our visits to the Community Library with the children. These are currently on a Tuesday morning, however we are hoping to add another morning for this.
Alongside all that we are exploring is our complete immersion in a Mindful approach to nursery life. The children use all their senses and deep breathing to harness the full potential of a calm and focused brain.
Two year old and nurture group meetings are scheduled for 1/2/3 April 2025. Please sign-up for one these dates – we look forward to seeing you to celebrate your child’s progress. The parent pre-school meetings will be scheduled for after Easter, further information to follow.
We also look forward to seeing those of you who are accompanying your child on our pre-school cinema trip on Thursday, 20thMarch.
Now that your children are settled beautifully, please could we respectfully ask that they do not bring in their own toys to nursery, as we do not want them to get broken or lost.
Can you help? We are desperate for some socks, if you have any spare they would be gratefully received.
Thank you all for your continued support. If you have any questions regarding the nursery, please do not hesitate to speak to Caroline.
Best wishes
